Glanzmann Subaru Gives a Break to Families Facing Cancer!

Subaru drivers shared lots of love with adult cancer patients, their caregivers and their loved ones raising $23,310 through their Share the Love Event from Nov. 21, 2014 to Jan.2, 2015. During the Share the Love Event, Glanzmann Subaru donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to the customer’s choice of five national non-profit organizations. In addition to the five national organizations, Subaru retailers have the opportunity to add a sixth local charity for customers to support. Glanzmann Subaru in Jenkintown, PA was excited to support local charity, For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation (FPS) for the second year in a row.

This support will help give 5 adult cancer patients a break from grueling cancer treatment and time to spend with their caregivers and children. Patients travel to one of the FPS respite homes in Florida or donated resort locations along the East Coast and experience a week free of doctors, tests and stress. FPS was established by Marci Bossow Schankweiler in 1999 in memory of her husband, Peter R. Bossow, Jr., whose heroic fifteen-month battle with cancer ended on September 1, 1999. FPS enables adult cancer patients and their families the opportunity to strengthen, deepen and unify their relationships by creating unforgettable and lasting respite vacations. Since its inception, FPS has served more than 5,400 people. For more information about FPS visit www.takeabreakfromcancer.org. For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation, a US-based 501(c)(3) organization, is funded entirely by charitable donations.
