HealthLink Dental Clinic Celebrates 16 Year Anniversary, Commemorates more than 23,000 Dental Appointments

HealthLink Dental Clinic will celebrate 16 years of providing free dental care to underserved adults in Bucks and Montgomery counties.

HealthLink Dental Clinic will celebrate 16 years of providing free dental care to underserved adults in Bucks and Montgomery counties with a cocktail party fundraiser on Sept. 13 at Twining Hall in Trevose, and the community is invited to attend.

The Anniversary Cocktail Party is a celebration of the clinic’s supporters – donors, volunteers, and staff – who make it possible for their financially struggling neighbors to receive free dental care. The event also will commemorate the more than 23,000 dental appointments the clinic has provided since 2001.

The cocktail party event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Twining Hall (4900 E Street Road, Trevose, Pa.), and includes hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, and soda from MEI Catering, and will feature jazz music by the Hazelrigg Brothers. Registration is $50 per person. A cash bar will be available.

During the event, the 2017 Eugene Jackson Humanitarian Award will be presented, posthumously, to Barbara T. Hartnett. Ms. Hartnett was an esteemed member of the health care community at Abington Jefferson Health, an advocate for care for the underserved, and a founding member of the board of directors at HealthLink Dental Clinic.

HealthLink first opened its doors in 2001 to provide free medical and dental care to low-income, working adults in Bucks and Montgomery counties. As the health care landscape changed over the years, so, too, did the clinic. In 2015, HealthLink re-focused its free services exclusively on the need it serves in the community: high-quality, compassionate dental care.

All proceeds raised will benefit the free dental clinic that provides a wide range of oral health services – from cleanings to extractions to root canals – to low-income adults and veterans living in Bucks and Montgomery counties. HealthLink is funded entirely by charitable contributions from the community. It is a standalone clinic not associated with a hospital or healthcare system. HealthLink does not receive federal or state funding, nor does the clinic receive insurance reimbursements.

Local businesses have chosen to make an investment in the health of their neighbors and support HealthLink’s Anniversary Cocktail Party with a sponsorship. The clinic is grateful for the contributions of Abington Jefferson Health, Penn Community Bank, Encore Rides, Fenningham, Stevens, and Coval LLP, Manor College, Henry Schein, Frames of Furlong, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Center, O’Connell & Company LLC, St John’s Anglican Church, and The Moment Photography.
