Hundreds Of Gallons Of Oil Spill In Bensalem Area Water: Report

The oil spill sent a a couple hundred gallons of oil into area waterways, according to a report.

BENSALEM, PA — Hundreds of gallons of oil reportedly spilled into Bensalem area waterways during an incident on Monday.

The Intelligencer reports that the incident occurred at the Bridgewater Industrial Park during the heavy rains.

When the area flooded, the oil was carried away and had contaminated area waterways. Officials are reportedly working to keep the oil out of the Delaware River and Neshaminy Creek. It's not yet clear exactly how far it has traversed.

Officials with Aqua Pennsylvania said that they have not yet seen an indication that water quality was impacted, according to the report.

Crews from numerous agencies have responded to the scene and continue to work on containment.
