ITT Technical Institute Leaves Bensalem

New site opens Monday in Levittown.

ITT Technical Institute has moved out of its 11-year home in Bensalem.

As of Monday, ITT will operate from 311 Veterans Highway (Route 413) in Levittown, according to company spokeswoman Lauren Littlefield.

"We're probably 99 percent moved out," she said Friday.

Littlefield said the new space comprises 28,000 square feet as opposed to 25,000 square feet at the Bensalem site on Tillman Drive, just off of Street Road, across from Parx Casino.

"The location in Levittown has a little better access and visibility from the road," she said. "We needed a little more space and the better visibility was a bonus."

The Bensalem site, Littlefield said, opened in December 2000.

Patch learned earlier this week that that location is now being eyed for a new high school for School Lane Charter School. The Bensalem school board is expected to have a hearing on that application in December. School Lane is now a K-8 school.

ITT is a private college system focusing on tech-oriented programs of study. Begun in 1969, it serves about 80,000 students at its facilities, according to its website.
