Driver Killed In PA Turnpike Crash In Lower Bucks
A motorist was killed near the Route 1 interchange in Bensalem Township Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A motorist has died Tuesday in a crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike around the Route 1 interchange, authorities said.
The Bucks County Coroner's Office has confirmed that a motorist was killed in the crash although further details about the person's age, gender, and address are not known at this time.
The crash involved a vehicle and a crane at the construction site where the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is working on Phase II of its Route 1 Improvement Project.

The accident happened near Exit 351.
The right lane of the turnpike and the westbound off-ramp at Exit 351 were temporarily closed after the crash, officials told Action News 6. All lanes were reopened just before 8 p.m.

Emergency Alerts of Southern Pennsylvania had stated on its Facebook page that fire companies were dispatched to Milemarker 351.6 on the westbound Turnpike late Tuesday afternoon.
There were reports of heavy entrapment with a vehicle trapped under a crane truck, Emergency Alerts stated.
Bensalem Command has been established, and fire engines 65, Rescue 2 and 4, and Medic 186 have been dispatched.
The Nottingham Fire Department was one of the fire crews dispatched to the accident scene.
State Police did not provide any information on the crash and referred Patch to the PA Turnpike Commission for information.
