New Police Officer Takes Oath In Bensalem Township

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bensalem Township Police Department has added to its ranks.

Alex Agyedu was sworn in by Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo and Director of Public Safety William McVey Friday morning in a ceremony before family, friends, Bensalem Council members, community members, hiring board members fellow police officers.

Agyedu attended the Temple Municipal Police Academy and will graduate on Monday. He will start in the Bensalem Township Police Department's Field Training Officer program on Tuesday.

"Please help us congratulate Alex and welcome him to our community," a township statement read. "We hope he has a long and safe career here at Bensalem Township and we look forward to working with him. A special thank you goes out to members of council and our civilian hiring board for their support and attendance today."
