PennDOT said that crews in the area will be removing pavement on northbound U.S. 1, dismantling overhead signs, installing and relocating utilities and beginning reconstruction of the Street Road overpass, among other work.
All work is weather dependent. If any work this week is canceled due to weather, construction will be planned for the same hours on Saturday, March 9 into the morning of Sunday, March 10.

The work is part of a two-year, $94 million project to widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of U.S. 1 from Old Lincoln Highway, at the Philadelphia city limits, to north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike's Bensalem interchange.
That will be the first phase of a three-part construction plan to rebuild and widen U.S. 1, replace aging bridges and install other safety enhancements along a four-mile section of the highway reaching to just north of Rt. 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough.
