PA Turnpike Bridge Work Will Shut Key Lower Bucks Road

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Bridge construction on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will close a key road in two Lower Bucks communities, PennDOT said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is planning bridge construction on Newportville Road in Bristol and Bensalem townships, beginning on Tuesday, July 9.

  • Tuesday, July 9, through Wednesday, July 17, a 24/7 closure is scheduled on Newportville Road between Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.
