BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Parx Casino is working on plans to add a hotel at its Street Road complex, Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo said.

The mayor said Wednesday that Parx had received zoning approvals to put a 15-story hotel on the property.

At the Bensalem Township Council's budget meeting last month, Building and Planning Director John Farrall said that Parx had received the zoning approvals.

He said that changes were being made to the plan before it would be presented to the council. At that time, Farrall anticipated the council to hear the plan in January and hoped it would act "favorably."

Farrall had said he was meeting with Parx to review architectural plans.

The mayor said he wasn't sure when Parx would come before the council. The council's next meeting is on Feb. 13.

He said one holdup involved getting building materials.

"I don't think it's going before the council anytime soon," the mayor said.

Two Parx representatives told Patch Thursday that they would not confirm the hotel plans, but that details would be announced when any developments come through.
