Parx Casino Sports Betting Made State $326K In Taxes In April

The state made more than $326,000 in taxes from sports wagering at Bensalem's Parx Casino in April, statistics show.

BENSALEM, PA — The state made $326,627 in taxes from sports wagering at Bensalem's Parx Casino in April, statistics show. All told, eight casinos across the commonwealth raised $1,519,734 in taxes.

It's a slight decline from the madness of March, which traditionally features significantly increases in wagers. Parx made the state $354,362 in March, and $133,199 back in February.

The numbers, published by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Thursday, also showed that Parx was the state's most profitable casino overall in April, with $907,298 in final revenue.

It was a big move up for Parx, which trailed SugarHouse in both revenue and tax in February and March.

Handle represents the total amount of money bet on sports at each casino, while revenue is the total made by the casino following payouts.
