Primary Election Day In Bensalem: Who's On The Ballot

BENSALEM, PA — Tuesday is Primary Election day across Pennsylvania.

The presidential primary doesn't offer much drama, with former Vice-President Joe Biden already the presumptive Democratic nominee and Republican President Donald Trump essentially unopposed.

But in Bensalem, voters will weigh in on the race for Pennsylvania's 1st Congressional District, currently represented by Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick.

In the race for Congress, Fitzpatrick faces Andrew Meehan on the Republican ballot. Meanwhile, the Democratic race pits front-runner Christina Finello, a county courts solicitor and Ivyland Borough Council member, against Skylar Hurwitz, a New Hope technology consultant.

Tuesday's ballot also is expected to set up a rematch in a race for the state House of Representatives seat representing the Bensalem area. On the Democratic ballot, Harold Hayes is unopposed, as is incumbent state Rep. Kathleen "K.C." Tomlinson on the Republican ballot.

In March, Tomlinson defeated Hayes by a vote of 4,399 to 3,587 in a special election that went on despite coronavirus concerns and a last-minute attempt by Bucks County to postpone the race.

Turnout for the election, which came as officials had begun shutting schools and other public spaces due to the virus, was very low. By comparison, former Rep. Gene DiGiralomo, now a county commissioner, won the seat in his last election by a vote of 12,870-9,897.

Polls will open Tuesday, June 2 at 7 a.m. Voters can cast ballots up until 8 p.m.
