Rita's Adds Frozen Coffee Drinks To Menu
The Bensalem-based company debuted the drinks this week. It comes on the heels of a mango-based beer and a 40-store expansion.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is continuing its product evolution with new, icy coffee treats.
After announcing a 40-store expansion this spring, the Bensalem-based Rita's has now introduced a line of new Cold Brew Frozen Coffees.
The drinks, available for a limited time only, made their splash on Monday, company officials said in a press release.

The coffee drinks come on the heels of a Rita's mango-based beer, which made its debut last weekend.
Available at all Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard locations, the frozen coffees come in three flavors: Original Cold Brew, Mocha, and Caramel.

In addition, to celebrate this new addition, all Rita’s app users will get a free small frozen coffee reward in their app account, so they can try the treat for free during the promo period.
Each Cold Brew Frozen Coffee is crafted with Rita’s vanilla ice and custard, to create an indulgent, unique flavorful coffee experience.
“Being in the business of frozen treats, launching an indulgent and better-frozen coffee that differentiates from every other frozen coffee product out there was second nature for us,” said Brianne Barket, Rita's director of product development and quality assurance. "After testing frozen coffee in shops last year to an overwhelming positive response from guests, we’re focused on growing our beverage line to meet growing consumer demand for all-day refreshment and on-the-go portability.”
Last month, Rita's announced that it would open 40 more stores and expand into Missouri, Illinois, and Texas. Rita's also introduced a new flavor: Gummy Bears.
Meanwhile, The Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. announced the arrival of Rita’s Fruit Brews, a new line of beers inspired by the iconic Rita’s brand.
Rita’s Fruit Brews Mango will be available at all three Neshaminy Creek locations —Croydon, Dublin, and New Hope —and sold in 12 oz. can 6-packs while supplies last at beer distributors, grocery, bottle shops, and on draft throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware, the brewery said.
The company said it is capitalizing on coffee drink trends.
“We’re happy to attract Millennial and Gen-Z guests looking for a new refreshing java option,” said Linda Chadwick, Rita's chief executive. “These flavorful frozen coffees are the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up for our guests needing a happiness jolt to their day, and we know once people taste Cold Brew Frozen Coffee, it will become a must-have refreshment!”
Rita’s signature Italian Ice is made fresh daily on-site and available in a rotating daily selection from more than 75 flavors. Other menu items at Rita’s include creamy Frozen Custard, signature Gelati, milkshakes, and more.
Originally founded in May 1984 in Bensalem Township, Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo created his prized family recipe to include real fruit, named the product after his wife Rita, and Rita’s Italian Ice was born.
Since then, Rita’s has staked its claim in the frozen treats industry by planting franchises across the country that offer a happy atmosphere, as well as set the standard for fresh and quality-driven Italian Ice.
