Rita's Just Peachy With New Flavor

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —It's just peachy at Rita's Italian Ice locations in Lower Bucks County and the region right now.

Bensalem-based Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard has introduced its second new flavor this season: Peach Ring Italian Ice.

The new flavor, along with Peach Ring Gummy topping, is available at all Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard locations for a limited time through Aug. 6.

It is the second flavor introduced this season. Gummy Bears was added when Rita's opened its shops this spring.

Peach Ring Italian Ice is featured in Rita’s Peach Ring Gelati and Frozen Drink, topped with two Gummy Peach Rings. The Peach Ring flavor is also among Rita’s menu of signature Italian Ices.

"Perfect for summer, Peach Ring is both sweet and tart, and is a nostalgic taste of childhood for millennials who grew up with flavorful, gummy peach ring candy," said Mark Jenkins, Rita's vice president of marketing. During the promotional period, Rita’s is offering perks for its mobile app users with a free small Italian ice – either the new Peach Ring or the flavor of their choice to those who earn a loyalty visit two times per week or more on the weeks of July 10-16, July 17-23, July 24-30, and July 31 to Aug. 6.

Rita’s signature Italian Ice is made fresh on-site and available in a rotating daily selection of more than 75 flavors. Other menu items at Rita’s include frozen custard, signature gelati, concretes, and milkshakes.

Before the start of its spring season, Rita's announced expansion plans to add 40 more stores and expand into three more states.

Rita's Franchise Company, LLC, is a privately owned and operated chain that was founded in Bensalem Township in May 1984 by Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo, who created his prized family recipe to include real fruit, named the product after his wife Rita.
