Route 1 Bridge Construction Resumes This Week

PennDOT crews will be out overnight working along Rockhill Drive in Bensalem Township as part of the Route 1 Improvements Project.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Bridge construction starts overnight Monday and will last for most of the week as part of PennDOT's Route 1 Improvements Project.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that overhead bridge construction is scheduled at night this week on Rockhill Drive in Bensalem Township for bridge demolition under a project to reconstruct, widen, and improve Route 1 in Bucks County.

PennDOT is reconstructing and widening U.S. 1, improving the interchanges, and constructing new bridges from the Turnpike Interchange in Bensalem Township to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 in Middletown Township under the $113.5 million Section RC2 contract.
