Police officers found a 2007 Honda Fit in the Southbound lanes of Rt.1. The vehicle had been experiencing mechanical difficulties before stopping on the highway in the second southbound lane.

Police said the driver of the Honda exited the vehicle, which was then struck by an approaching 2022 Kia Seltos.

That impact caused the Honda to strike the driver who was outside the vehicle, police said. The Honda was then struck again by an approaching 2017 Jeep Cherokee.

The Honda was also occupied by a front seat passenger. The passenger was transported to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital for non- life threatening injuries.

This crash is under investigation, and at this time, drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a factor in this crash, police said.
