Santa Claus' Drive-Thru Visit To Bensalem Scheduled For December

The drive-thru event is scheduled for Dec. 11 and will take place in lieu of the township's annual tree lightening ceremony.

BENSALEM, PA — The calendar may not have reached Halloween yet, but Bensalem Township officials already have another holiday in sight.

The township announced Monday that it will host a drive-thru visit from Santa Claus in lieu of its annual holiday tree-lighting ceremony. Saint Nick is scheduled to pass through Bensalem beginning at 5 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the township municipal building, which is located at 2400 Byberry Rd.

The drive-thru event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and allows for Santa to “get a sneak preview of all the boys and girls whose homes he will be visiting on Christmas Eve,” the township said.

Children are required to spread a little holiday joy by waving to Santa, who, in return is promised to wave back, township officials said.

Visitors will be required to remain in their vehicles due to ongoing COVID-19 safety precautions. Guests are encouraged to bring canned goods for those less fortunate members of the community and a small gift will be given to children while supplies last.
