SCORE Bucks County Receives Platinum Leadership Award

The recognition is the highest honor possible for any local chapter of the national nonprofit organization.

For the second year in a row, SCORE National has awarded SCORE Bucks County the 2015 Platinum Leadership Award, the highest recognition possible for any local chapter. Notably, only a small percentage of SCORE’s 364 chapters nationwide qualify for this annual honor.

SCORE Bucks County Chairman Gene Murtha said the Chapter provided more than 1,500 services to Bucks County small business owners and entrepreneurs last year. In addition to offering free business workshops on a range of topics, including business funding, and sales and marketing, SCORE Bucks members provide free one-on-one mentoring sessions, as well as email and telephone sessions with clients.

“The Platinum Leadership Award is a testament not only to the quantity of work SCORE Bucks has done, but more importantly to the quality of our work as reported by our clients,” Murtha said. “The primary measure in qualifying for this honor is customer satisfaction as shown by positive feedback from our clients. We have done a good job only if they say so.”

SCORE Bucks mentoring team is comprised of 50 active volunteers who have been entrepreneurs, business owners, corporate executives or professionals with financial, marketing and sales expertise.

“We work hard to provide business owners and startups with the know-how that allows their business ventures to thrive,” said Murtha.

To be considered for the Platinum Leadership Award all SCORE chapters are reviewed each year by the SCORE National organization. The review consists of measurements as to how each chapter stacks up in more than 20 areas, including assessments from client, technical skills, ethics, leadership and total services within their area.
