Thanksgiving Dinner: Seniors Received Free Meals From Parx Casino
The Bensalem Township casino doled out meals to residents of senior centers in Bensalem, Bristol and Bristol Township earlier this week.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Seniors in Lower Bucks County got free Thanksgiving meals courtesy of Parx Casino.
Members of the Bensalem Township casino handed out meals at the Bristol Township Senior Center on Bath Road in Bristol Tuesday morning with preparations made by Parx executives and team members through Caring for Friends.
Parx Casino also donated a $20,000 check to Caring for Friends for their work in Bucks County and the region.

Seniors from three organizations signed up for the free meals: through three organizations: the Bensalem Senior Center, Bristol Borough and the Bristol Township Senior Center.
“The Parx Casino and Caring for Friends partnership is a tremendous opportunity to build a legacy of care in our community," said Ron Davis, Parx Casino's director of diversity and community development. "We are thankful to our team members who are always willing to help with outreach to those in need. We celebrate making a difference.”

Each senior received a Thanksgiving meal and a box with an additional seven home-cooked meals and soups.
"Caring For Friends is grateful to Parx Casino for its generous donation of fifteen thousand dollars, hundreds of hours of volunteer time, and thousands of pounds of food," said Caring For Friends CEO Vince Schiavone. "In this time of inflation and supply chain issues, affording a Thanksgiving meal will be harder than ever. Thanks to Parx, thousands of Bucks County seniors, and other neighbors in need will have a happier holiday.”

Founded in 1974, Caring for Friends is a volunteer organization and independent food bank serving greater Philadelphia. Through its flagship meal delivery program, CFF provides food and friendship to homebound seniors, veterans and those with disabilities. CFF also provides meals to people experiencing homelessness, and donates food to more than 250 community partners working in unserved and underserved neighborhoods.
