Thief Stole $100K In Merchandise In Bucks, Montgomery Counties: Cops

Bensalem Police charged a Philadelphia man Tuesday with the crimes that also extend to Philadelphia and New Jersey.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A Philadelphia man has been nabbed for committing numerous thefts at retailers in three counties, authorities said.

Knieam Joshua Williams, 30, of Philadelphia was arrested by the Bensalem Township Police Department's Special Investigations Unit and members of the FBI Task Force on Tuesday

He is charged with multiple counts of retail theft, fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving, and careless driving after being arrested near his home on Rennard Street in Philadelphia.

Bensalem Police said that Williams has been committing retail thefts at numerous Home Depot, Lowes, and Harbor Freight locations throughout Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.

He is suspected of driving a stolen U-Haul van during some of the thefts and frequently changed vehicles during his crimes, police said.

The U-Haul van was seized Tuesday by Philadelphia Police at the time of his arrest.

Bensalem Police said they attempted to conduct traffic stops on him twice. On both occasions, he fled from the police.

Williams has been charged with more than $8,000 worth of thefts in Bensalem alone since April 22.

The items stolen include pressure washers, paint sprayers, chain saws, compressors, sump pumps, and various other types of power tools.

He also had 12 active arrest warrants out of Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, police said.

On Tuesday morning, Williams was suspected of committing a felony retail theft in Montgomery Township where charges are pending.

Police Departments in New Jersey are also filing charges for similar thefts.

Williams has about 20 more pending cases for a total of more than $100,000 worth of stolen merchandise.

After being transported to the Bensalem Township Police Department, Williams was arraigned on four criminal complaints from Bensalem and one from Middletown Township by District Justice Joseph Falcone.

He was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $250,000 bail.
