U.S. 1, Street Road Down To Single Lanes Again Next Week
In Bensalem, the overnight closures will be part of a project to widen 1.3 miles of U.S. 1.
BENSALEM, PA — Parts of U.S. 1 and Street Road will be down to a single lane at night again next week as construction in the area continues.
On Monday, March 11, through Friday, March 15, lanes will be closed on the two roadways from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The closures on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 will be between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway.
The Street Road closures will be between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way.

The closures are for work that's part of a project to widen U.S. 1 and rebuild its interchange at Street Road (Rt. 132).
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Next week, workers will be removing existing pavement on northbound U.S. 1, beginning installation of the project's stormwater drainage system, dismantling overhead signs and beginning construction activities on the Street Road overpass.
The project will widen and improve a 1.3-mile stretch of U.S. 1 from Old Lincoln Highway, at the Philadelphia border, to north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike's Bensalem interchange.
