U.S. 1, Street Road Lane Closure Schedule For Next Week

Lanes also will be closed on Rockhill Drive as part of the ongoing PennDOT construction project.

BENSALEM, PA — Lane closures on U.S. 1 and Street Road in Bensalem are scheduled once again next week as the construction project at the intersection of the busy roadways continues.

On Monday, June 17, through Saturday, June 22, northbound and southbound U.S. 1 will be reduced to a single lane from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. each day. The closure will be between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway.

Street Road in Bensalem will be down to a single lane during those times Between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way.

Also next week, there will be lane closures Monday through Friday on Rockhill Drive. The closures, in both directions, will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. They'll be between Business U.S. 1 and Neshamny Boulevard, where crews will be doing advance engineering work on the second phase of the project.

The closures are part of an ongoing PennDOT project to rebuild, widen and otherwise improve a 1.3-mile section of the highway in Bensalem. That is the first of three phases of a plan to improve U.S. 1 from just north of Philadelphia to north of Rt. 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown and Langhorne.

Motorists in the area are advised to allow extra time because backups and slowdowns are expected to happen.
