WATCH: Skateboarder Plows Down 'Pope' In Philly Park

'The pope ain't done nothing for me,' skateboarder reportedly said after running over the cardboard cutout in LOVE Park.

Let’s hope the Pope’s actual Philadelphia welcome is better than the one his cardboard likeness received Wednesday at LOVE Park.

The Pop Up Pope, a cardboard cutout of Pope Francis that one group of Catholics is using to spread awareness of his visit, was plowed down by a skateboarder during his visit to the iconic Philadelphia park.

The folks in charge of the paper Pontiff Tweeted this, followed by a video of the incident: “We were welcomed @LOVE_Park yesterday like this.”

Philly.com reported that a woman was holding the Pop Up Pope while talking to Philly Jesus (more on that here), when the boarder tackled him and knocked him over. “Then he laughed about,” the report said.

After the incident, the skateboarder said “’The pope ain’t done nothing for me,” according to an account of the incident shared by Pop Up Pope on Instagram.

The tackle was just one of many recent incidents the caretakers of the cardboard cutout have experienced lately, they said via Instagram.

“This encounter was 10 minutes after the cardboard cut-out was punched by a self-identified Muslim man. This morning we received a nasty message which sounded like a threat from someone who warned us, and others, not to bring the pope back to the park. This is the City of Brotherly love, a city with great qualities but one filled with people who hate and people who need healing. Were we angry at this young man and his friends for taunting us, attacking the pope and threatening us? Yes. Turning the other cheek and loving your enemies is one of the hardest things to do. I’m from Philly and wanted to punch this kid in the face, but I didn’t let my anger win. It’s ironic this all happened in #LovePark.”
