Bethlehem woman hides with gun, kids as ex threatens at door, police say (lehighvalleylive.com) — Bethlehem police are looking for a 33-year-old Allentown man accused of threatening his ex-girlfriend at her Bethlehem home, forcing her to hide upstairs with her two children while armed with a pistol. The incident, which allegedly involved repeated violent text threats and doorbell ringing, has led to child endangerment and related charges, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
3. Lehigh County commissioner accused of drug crimes now faces criminal charge in Northampton County (mcall.com) — A Bethlehem resident serving as a Lehigh County commissioner now faces a new felony charge in Northampton County after investigators say he improperly accessed confidential Bethlehem police reports involving his own family. Prosecutors allege he exceeded his authority as the city's Right-to-Know officer to interfere with investigations, adding to an already large slate of drug-related charges filed last year.
4. Pine Island artist builds 9/11 memorial using real World Trade Center walls (winknews.com) — A Florida artist who creates 9/11 memorials from actual World Trade Center slurry wall pieces has already placed one of her sculptures in Bethlehem. While she now works on a massive new installation whose future home is undecided, her existing Bethlehem memorial offers local residents a powerful place to reflect on the attacks and the stories behind these historic concrete blocks.
