Along with Donegan Elementary and Broughal Middle, the clinic now operates three neighborhood locations, offering counseling and outreach while training Lehigh graduate students to serve the community.
2. Bethlehem data center would fail proposed zoning rules, but project is exempt (lehighdaily.com) — Bethlehem officials are weighing new zoning rules for data centers that would bar them from most industrial districts and require large setbacks from homes, schools, and parks. The proposed 2184 Industrial Drive data center wouldn't meet those standards but is exempt because its plans were filed earlier, while residents can still speak at Tuesday's public hearing.
3. Local nonprofit is gifted a coffee business. They hope it will support human trafficking survivors. (lehighvalleylive.com) — Bloom for Women has taken over the Grounds for Restoration coffee business, creating new job opportunities for trafficking survivors and a fresh revenue stream. Bethlehem residents can support the effort by buying the coffee at My Sister's Closet in town or online, helping fund housing, counseling, and workforce programs for women rebuilding their lives.
4. Smith introduces himself to adult bowling ranks with 1st 300 (lehighvalleylive.com) — Area bowlers turned in big numbers this week, including standout series at Bethlehem's Steel City and National Sokols lanes. Local names filled the honor rolls for 300 games, 800 series, and top women's scores, giving Bethlehem league bowlers plenty of bragging rights as the season heats up across the Lehigh Valley.
5. Raymond L. Torres Jr., 72, Formerly of Bethlehem (Obituary Brought to You by Heintzelman Funeral Home) (sauconsource.com) — Bethlehem is remembering Raymond L. Torres Jr., 72, a former resident born in the city who worked for Bethlehem Steel and later Guardian Life Insurance. Family and friends can pay respects Wednesday morning in Hellertown, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. and online condolences accepted through the funeral home's website.
