70-Cent Theft From Rosemont Gas Station, Police Say

On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in the Bryn Mawr area:

Retail theft: On Nov. 8 at 10:21 p.m., a man entered the Sunoco A-Plus on the 1200 block of Lancaster Ave. in Rosemont and put two Slim Jims in his pocket, police said. After grabbing two more Slim Jims, the man left the store without paying. The four Slim Jims, police said, have a total value of 70 cents.

Theft: Three manhole covers were discovered missing from the area around Elliot Road and Old Lancaster Ave. in Bryn Mawr on Nov. 9, police said. The total value of the manholes was about $150, according to the report.

Liquor law violation: Around 12:44 p.m. on Nov. 10, a police officer observed an 18-year-old Villanova student near the 1000 block of W Lancaster Ave. in Bryn Mawr with an open container of Bud Light, police said. The student, who was later discovered to have a fake ID, was cited for liquor law violation and underage drinking, according to the police report.
