Alexis Pew '10 Gives Back

Interior Design

Since graduating from Harcum’s Interior Design program in 2010, Alexis Pew has built a name for herself in the Philadelphia Design community. She has been referred to as the “next generation up and comers” byPhiladelphia Magazine. Her expertise has been quoted on the front page of the Home & Design section of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

In 2014 Pew, along with Kevin Kaminiski, established their own firm Kaminski + Pew. They bring together a thorough knowledge of the creative process and a solid understanding of complex design problems. Pew recently worked on a pro bono project for a teen room at a West Philadelphia homeless shelter. Pew remarks, “It was a fun, challenging little project.” For Harcum, it shows a striking resemblance to a project Pew worked on as a student.

As a Harcum student, Pew placed second (out of 60 participants) in the 8th Annual Kling Stubbins design competition. This high profile competition for local college and university students challenges students to participate in a 7 hour design charette where they are presented with a design project and tasked with presenting a finished design to local experts.
