Lower Merion Vigil and Call to Action on Gun Violence
Lower Merion United will hold a vigil and call to action to end gun violence on Fri, Mar 8 from 5:30 to 6pm: Lower Merion Township Admin Building, 75 E Lancaster Ave, Ardmore.

Lower Merion United will be holding a vigil for victims of gun violence, and a call to action for federal and state gun law reform, from 5:30 – 6:00 pm on Friday, March 8th in front of the administration building of the Township of Lower Merion, 75 East Lancaster Ave., Ardmore.
The event will mark the completion of Lower Merion United’s week-long Campaign for Common-Sense Gun Laws, during which residents of Lower Merion and other neighboring communities are contacting state and federal lawmakers to advocate for new laws to reduce gun violence, including background checks for all gun sales.
The Campaign for Common Sense Gun Laws started on Monday, March 4 with Lower Merion United group members sending e-mails to federal lawmakers, including Senator Pat Toomey and Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, asking for their support of background checks for all gun sales, new federal laws against gun trafficking, and a federal ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. The week-long campaign also includes daily outreach to state lawmakers, Tweets focused on legislators, letters to editors, calls to local talk shows, donations to state and national gun violence prevention groups, and Friday night’s vigil.
