Bryn Mawr Day 2017: What You Need To Know

BRYN MAWR, PA – The 7th Annual Bryn Mawr Day is Saturday, Sept. 9 and promises tons of community fun on the Main Line.
The annual event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot across from Ludington Library at the corner of Lancaster and Bryn Mawr avenues. Bryn Mawr Day is a rain-or-shine event.
The day will feature live music from Willson Vocal Academy, Cool Beans Music, Wolf Performing Arts Center, Blues Uprising, The Shipley Singers, Baldwin B-Flats, and The Agnes Irwin School Chorus. All acts will perform on the "Holy Child School at Rosemont" stage.

To keep attendees fed, there will be numerous food trucks offering up eats, including pizza, Indian food, and classic festival/fair foods. Also, numerous local eateries – including Zoe's Kitchen, Garrett Hill Ale House, and Mompop's Ice Pops – will be on hand offering grub, as well.
Those in attendance can also shop at the farmer's market, which will be open throughout the day.

Attendees can enjoy the “Give and Take Little Circus" from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The circus will feature clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers, and aerial acts. There will also be a traveling zoo with pony rides from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., fire truck rides from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Bryn Mawr College Dance Performance Club Choom Boom at 11 a.m., face painting from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and more.
In the spirit of Bryn Mawr Day, attendees can get a history lesson on Bryn Mawr through a historical tour with Bobbie McElroy of the Lower Merion Historical Society guiding the tour. Tours will be about 45 minutes each and will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon.
And of course tons of local businesses, organizations, and institutions will be on hand to provide information, resources, and assistance to the community.
“Bryn Mawr Day has really become a signature Lower Merion event over these last years,” Lower Merion Commissioner Scott Zelov, who represents Bryn Mawr on the Township Board of Commissioners, said. “We live in a large Township, so we like to think of this as a welcome back from summer being held in the town square, along Lower Merion’s main street and across from our flagship Ludington Library, which is always open and involved in the festival.”
