Bryn Mawr Man Gets Probation For Sex Assault On Teen Girl

A Bryn Mawr man who sexually assaulted a teenage girl at a Berks County church in 2006 will register as a sex offender for 10 years.

BRYN MAWR, PA — A Bryn Mawr man was sentenced to probation and will register as a sex offender after being convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage girl at a Reading church.

According to court records, Jonathan Scott Buchanan, 36, of the Bryn Mawr section of Radnor Township, will serve seven years of probation for having inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old girl at a Berks County church in 2006.

Buchanan will also have to register as a sexual offender for 10 years.

He pleaded guilty to corruption of minors and indecent assault in April.

According to the Reading Eagle, Buchanan asked the victim to help him take some equipment upstairs in the church from a downstairs office area. When they went to the basement, he sexually assaulted her.
