Come Hungry! Pancake Breakfast, Open House, Book Fair

Sunday, January 25 is packed with activities at Ss. Colman-John Neumann!

Ss. Colman-John Neumann School welcomes parishioners, book lovers and interested new school families on Sunday, January 25, 2015 with three events planned at the school: the annual SCJN Pancake Breakfast, an Open House with guided tours to celebrate Catholic Schools Week, and a Book Fair in the school’s library.

The Annual Pancake Breakfast is one of the largest fundraising events for Ss. Colman-John Neumann (SCJN). From 8 a.m.-12 noon in the Parish Center, families can enjoy pancakes, sausage, pastries, coffee, tea and juice. All food will be cooked and served by SCJN school families. Parishioners and local residents are welcome to attend. The cost is $8 per person, and cash and checks will be accepted at the door. The breakfast benefits the Home & School Association of SCJN, which helps coordinate parent involvement, plans a variety of student activities and enhances involvement in local communities.

From 9-11:00 a.m., an Open House with guided tours is also planned for local families. SCJN students and faculty will be on hand to provide guided tours of the school to celebrate Catholic Schools Week, a yearly celebration of the high-quality, faith-based education the nation's Catholic schools provide. New families will hear about SCJN’s academic excellence and the deep Catholic faith that ties together the school’s students. They will see SCJN’s recent expansion effort, including a multi-purpose parish Life Center, which includes a new state-of-the-art gymnasium, meeting space, and additional classrooms.

Families will also learn about the Pre-Kindergarten program for 3- and 4-year old children, and parents are invited to tour the program’s newly renovated classrooms. In addition to the breakfast and open house activities, a Book Fair will be held in the SCJN library (located within the school) from 9-11:00 a.m. Past book fairs have showcased children’s books, craft items and other child activities from K-8th grade, with items available for purchase during fair hours.
