Dental Hygiene Honor for Society

The Chi Xi chapter of Harcum College’s Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society held their third annual community service event at Community Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) in West Chester, PA on Saturday, February 25. Members volunteered their time and services to provide free dental exams, radiographs, teeth cleanings, and fluoride treatments to the underserved community.

Also thanks to Dr. Paul Britt who served as our supervising dentist and to CVIM for the use of their dental facility and supplies.


Sigma Phi Alpha is the national honor society of the dental hygiene profession. The purpose of Sigma Phi Alpha is to promote, recognize, and honor scholarship, leadership, and service among dental hygiene students and graduates of dental hygiene programs. The membership strives to provide quality service to the public through scholarship, leadership, and service.
