Delaware Co. Council, Rose Tree Park Hosts Drive-In Movie Weekend

With theater-going experiences limited by the coronavirus pandemic, families can enjoy four movies this weekend in a safe environment.

MEDIA, PA — As movie-going remains largely interrupted thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that has limited public gatherings, the Delaware County Council is offering families the opportunity for a safe theater-going experience with a drive-in movie weekend at Rose Tree Park.

Four movies will be shown at the park beginning Friday and will run throughout the weekend, county officials announced last week. There is a $10 fee per car and registration is required in advance.

Each showing will have a maximum of 150 vehicles and residents are encouraged to register in advance before the movies sell out. The park is located at 1671 N. Providence in Media.

Movies will continue in light rain but will be canceled if weather becomes inclement.

“Rose Tree Park is a beautiful open space and a drive-in movie is a great activity during the pandemic,” Steve Byrne, Executive Director of Visit Delco, PA, said in the news release. “We’re able to keep people socially distanced, it allows families a fun night out and it not going to break the bank.”
