Downed Tree Halts SEPTA, Amtrak Service On Main Line

Full service is restored on the Paoli-Thorndale Line after a tree damaged electrical systems and train tracks, according to SEPTA.

BRYN MAWR, PA – SEPTA and Amtrak service were suspended after a tree that fell on tracks and wires in Bryn Mawr as a result of Thursday's storm.

The tree damaged the overhead power system and tracks in the Bryn Mawr area, according to Amtrak.

Inbound and outbound service of the Paoli-Thorndale Line was restored by about 12:30 p.m., according to SEPTA.

SEPTA officials said the Paoli-Thorndale Line was suspended while Amtrak crews worked to address the issue.

Passengers may experience residual delays while full service is restored, SEPTA said.

Amtrak said its service from Philadelphia and Harrisburg was suspended Friday morning, but that has since resumed.
