Merion Concert Band Spring Concert

The Merion Concert Band wraps up its 32nd season with a free concert on Sunday, April 22nd at 3:00 PM at Harriton High School in Rosemont.  The concert features mezzo-soprano Susan Dunn in her premiere performance with the Band.  Also featured are masterworks by three great American composers:  Clifton Williams’ Fanfare and Allegro and George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture will bookend the first half of the concert, and Howard Hanson’s Finale from his Symphony No. 2 “Romantic” will bring the program to a passionate and rousing close.  This season’s exploration of great chamber music will continue with Richard Strauss’s Serenade in Eb.  The program also includes music by Pavel Tchesnokov, Maurice Ravel and Getty Huffine.

The concert is free and open to the public. There is ample parking and the facility is wheelchair accessible. For more information, call (215) 527-5075 or (215) 429-4142.
