Flapjacks for Families
Dental Hygiene seniors at Harcum College make breakfast for families residing at the Ronald McDonald House.

Community Service is a required component to many of the degree programs offered at Harcum College. Dental Hygiene students must complete service projects of their choosing to fulfill their graduation requirements.
This semester ten of our amazing senior Dental Hygiene students served breakfast at the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. The non-profit organization provides lodging to families of children who are being treated at St. Christopher’s Hospital. “The Harcum faculty are proud of the students commitment and compassion to willingly provide a service to this charitable organization. The dedication and kindness these students displayed is truly commendable, commented Karen Naylor, Senior Clinic Coordinator.
Student Elizabeth Short remarked, “This was my second time making a meal for the Ronald McDonald house. I enjoy coming to this organization to help and donate my time because there is no one more deserving than a family that is in crisis. The organization is so appreciative that it always makes me want to giveback as much as I can.”
