Former Main Line Macy's Location To Become Health Club, Report Says
Life Time Athletic will be opening in late 2017, the company says.
As Macy's closed many locations across the country, a new business will take its place in Ardmore as Life Time Athletic is planning to open its high end health club in the Suburban Square location.
The new health club will take up about 79,000 of the 100,000 square foot building and offer a full-service spa, a cafe, group fitness instructors and personal trainers, an indoor cycling studio, fitness equipment, weight loss programs, yoga and Pilates classes, and more, according to Life Time Athletics' website.
Bahram Akradi, Life Time Fitness' founder and chief executive, told Philly.com that Main Line residents are "exactly the customer we want to serve."

The renovation of the former Macy's location to accommodate the health club is part of a $20 million overall plan for Suburban Square. The plans include a four-level, 625-space parking garage with ground-floor retail space and an expansion of the mall’s Trader Joe’s food market, Philly.com reports.
