The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (October 11-15) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child's life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.

As part of National School Lunch Week, we would like to take a moment to recognize, appreciate and thank the District's amazing Nutritional Services staff for all of their incredibly hard work and exemplary efforts! The last year-and-a-half has provided a host of new challenges that Nutritional Services staff members have tackled head on, from supply chain issues and the daily duties of feeding ten schools filled with hungry students to all of the excellent work done in successfully implementing and executing the District's meal distribution program. LMSD could not function without you. Thank you for all that you do!
