Now that COVID-19 vaccines have been approved for children aged 5-11, we know that many of you are interested in having your children vaccinated.
LMSD has been working with Eric's Rx, the pharmacy with which we worked on our prior vaccination clinics, to set up a clinic or clinics for 5- to 11-year-old LMSD students. Details are not finalized yet, though the TENTATIVE date for an initial first-dose clinic is November 15, 2021. Appointments at this first clinic will be limited to enable us to work through the process for younger recipients.

Vaccinating a large number of younger children poses more challenges than vaccinating teens and adults, as we have to allow more time for each appointment and more space, since children need to be accompanied. We want to make sure that any clinics LMSD holds for younger children take into account both their physical and emotional well-being.
As we continue to finalize our plans, I urge you to reach out to your child's healthcare provider and to local pharmacies, as they may have appointments available earlier than we are able to provide the clinic.
We will share additional information on LMSD clinics when we have the details and sign-up process worked out.
Thank you for your ongoing efforts to keep our students, staff and community safe.
