"Closing a store is always a tough decision, but we are focused on growing our business and reinvesting those resources into our existing stores along with aggressively exploring new sites," Acme spokesperson Dana Ward said. "We look forward to continuing to provide our customers with clean, fresh, full, and friendly shopping experiences."

According to Philly.com, the Acme purchased the property from SuperFresh and A&P in 2015.

Even with the store closing, Acme still has four locations operating in the area.

Those are in the Bala Cynwyd Shopping Center, on Montgomery Avenue in Narberth, on East Lancaster Avenue in Wynnewood, and on West Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr.

Associates who are interested in remaining with the company will have the opportunity to transfer to open positions at nearby stores," Ward said.
