Harcum Admissions Staff Volunteers at Easter Seals
Entire team performs valuable act of service for Harcum College Centennial initiative

ADMISSIONS TEAM VOLUNTEERS AT EASTER SEALS
The entire Admissions department volunteered at Easter Seals on March 16 as an Act of Service for the Centennial project called “100 Acts of Service.” They worked with children ages 3-5 that had disabilities or special needs. They read a children’s book about planting a seed and feeding it water so it could grow. Then they helped the children to paint pots, fill them with soil, and plant seeds. The pots will be given to their “someone special” on Mother’s Day. They also dropped off the school supplies that were collected for the school. They decided to volunteer with Easter Seals because Karey Bowen’s sister, Jaci works there.
Counselor and Coach Brittany Clark said, “I would definitely do it again, and what I took away from it was that the little things in life, something as simple as adding dirt to a pot can bring a smile to a child’s face. I wish we can see their reactions when they first see that the plants have grown.”
Admissions staffer Karey Bowen said, “The kids were cute and the employees were so thankful. Everywhere I turned an employee said thank you for coming.”
Easter Seals is always looking for volunteers. So, if anyone else would like to go and work with the kids, the Admissions team encourages you to reach out.
