Harcum College Course Highlights Dental Restorative Procedures

Session for dental professionals will provide insights into the most current techniques while fulfilling required CEU credits.

Harcum College’s Office of Continuing and Professional Studies will present a new course “The ABC’s of Restorative Procedures: Adhesion, Bands & Composite” on Wednesday November 8, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. The course will be offered at the Dental Future Center, Suite 100, 401 Commerce Drive in Fort Washington, PA.

This informative course designed for dental assistants and expanded function dental assistants (EFDA’s) is presented by Theresa Groody, EFDA, CDA, M.Ed., Harcum’s Director of Continuing and Professional Studies. It will review the basics of restorative procedures, enabling dental professionals to provide predictable, consistent and superior patient care.

Attendees will learn how to compare and contrast generations of dental adhesives and how to explain the function of each and when/why each are needed. The criteria for properly placed matrix systems will be reexamined and there will be a review of material choices and placement/finishing/polishing techniques for each class of composite restoration. Those completing the $95 course will earn 2 Continuing Education Units (CEU).
