Harcum College Devotes Day Off to Community Service

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service celebrates 25 years in Philadelphia.

Serving together across the Philadelphia region, dozens of organizations planned a volunteer day to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 20, 2020. Harcum College was among the list of groups who chose to devote a holiday to support the greater good.

RaMonda Crosby, Senior Accountant in Harcum's Business Office, helped to organize the day of clean-up at the Bryn Mawr campus. Students and employees and their families joined forces to work in small groups to spruce up designated areas within the community.

Volunteers received commemorative t-shirts and snacks and hot beverages for donating a few hours of their time.

The Harcum College community is regularly involved in community service. In 2015, when the College marked their Centennial, they committed to 100 Acts of Service to celebrate. They exceeded their goal and have continued serving ever since. Read more about the many volunteer acts completed throughout the year at harcum.edu/harcumhelps.
