The Fashion Show will showcase student creations on biggest runway in show's recent history.
Bryn Mawr, PA – March 16, 2023 – The Harcum College Fashion Program announces its annual spring fashion showcase, featuring an in-person runway show on Friday, April 28, at 8 pm in Klein Hall on the Bryn Mawr campus. This will be the first runway show since the pandemic, and the runway, measuring 8 ft. x 40 ft., will be the longest and widest in the show’s recent history.
The night of fashion will kick off with a meet and greet reception at 7 pm, where fashion merchandising students will host pop-up shops. Attendees will have the opportunity to browse fashion items while viewing fashion designers’ collection drawings.
Following the meet and greet, the runway show will commence. It will feature a variety of styles, including 90s-inspired luxury resort wear, edgy leather and lace, Van Gogh-inspired corsets, and streetwear, which highlight the creativity and talent of the fashion program’s students. The award-winning design of student Briana Ruffin will also be on display. Her upcycled creation, made entirely from second-hand clothing, won first place in the Philly Fashion Week student contest called “Up Next”in Fall 2022.

“We are excited to announce the return of the in-person runway show after a long hiatus due to the pandemic,” expressed Julian Crooks, Program Director of the Fashion Programs. “The show will feature the work from our talented senior and junior fashion students, whose diverse backgrounds and unique perspectives have culminated in a collection of modern, thoughtfully conceived designs. We are anxious to showcase these designs to the wider fashion world.”
The designers are first- and second-year students who have spent an academic year perfecting their craft. Each designer has received valuable feedback from a panel of esteemed industry critics, who evaluated their work and selected the most exceptional pieces to showcase in the fashion show.
