Harcum President Elected to Wall of Fame
Jon Jay DeTemple receives honor from Sidney Central in New York State, his high school alma mater.

Dr. Jon Jay DeTemple, President of Harcum College since 2007, was nominated and officially ratified by the Sidney Central School Wall of Fame as an inductee of the SCSAA Wall of Fame for Distinguished Alumni and Educators at the Board's Annual meeting Saturday January 16, 2016. He will be inducted in Sidney, New York, on Sunday July 17, 2016, during a summer alumni reunion.
DeTemple, a Sidney Central graduate, is now a dual inductee into both their Sports Hall of Fame and the Wall of Fame. DeTemple received letters of support for his nomination from a higher education industry leader, a College trustee, and a community leader, Main Line Chamber President and CEO Bernard Dagenais, who said, "[Dr. DeTemple's] leadership emphasizes the strengths of diversity and the importance of community involvement in an effective way, providing an example for other education institutions and businesses."
DeTemple received a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University; an MBA from Syracuse University; and a bachelor’s of science from Cornell University. He has over 30 years of experience in higher education and business management at Post University, SUNY College of Technology, and the Genoa Art Institute. Under his leadership, Harcum College reached a record enrollment of 1,700 students, new academic programs were developed such as accounting and medical assisting, and numerous facilities received upgrades, most notably a $1.2 million renovation and rededication of the Trout Library in 2012.

Harcum celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2015, with DeTemple presiding over numerous events including the Centennial Kickoff, the 99th Annual Commencement, and the Centennial Gala.
