Honoring Veterans at Harcum College

Over forty members of the Harcum community attended its Veteran’s Day observance at the flagpole in front of Melville Hall on Tuesday, November 11.

Residence Life Director Jameel Tucker introduced the veterans present, the U.S. flag was raised, and the attendees sang the National Anthem.

Veterans present to be recognized for their service were Associate Professor Ray Rodgers (U.S. Air Force), Sodexo staffer Eric Smith (U.S. Army), Assistant Coach C.J. Scott (U.S. Air Force), President Jon Jay DeTemple (U.S. Army), Maintenance Supervisor William Knight (U.S. Navy), Clint Ely (U.S. Marines).

WWII veteran Clint Ely is the father of Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Institutional Research Tim Ely. Clint Ely served in the South Pacific during the war.
