Interfaith Events in Bryn Mawr to Discuss Peace in the Middle East

Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church will host two events focusing on the hope for peace in the Middle East

In the interest of providing a variety of perspectives on what makes for peace, Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church will host two events focusing on the hope for peace in the Middle East. On Sunday, October 26, Rabbi Dr. Ron Kronish will address the question, “Can Arabs and Jews Live Together in Israel.” On Sunday, November 9, Christian Jewish Allies representatives will discuss their peacemaking efforts. Both events will take place at 11:15 a.m. in the church’s Ministries Center at 625 Montgomery Avenue, Bryn Mawr.

Rabbi Dr. Kronish’s October presentation is jointly sponsored by Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church (BMPC), Mainline Reform Temple Beth Elohim, Congregation Beth Am Israel, Adath Israel, Beth David Reform Congregation, and Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El. Dr. Kronish is the Director of the Interreligious Coordinating Council in Israel (ICCI) and a noted educator, author, lecturer and speaker. He has published articles and essays on Jewish politics, faith communities, and the peace process, education, culture and contemporary issues in America and Israel. He has represented ICCI at the Vatican and at many international conferences, and he is frequently consulted by media representatives. He received his B.A. from Brandeis University, rabbinic ordination from Hebrew College, New York, and a doctorate in Education from Harvard University. He blogs for the “Times of Israel” and the “Huffington Post.”

For the November program, representatives of Christian Jewish Allies will provide an overview of the curriculum, “Steadfast Hope: The Palestinian Quest for Just Peace,” a view of activities being undertaken by Muslim, Jewish, and Christian peacemakers working for justice and reconciliation.
