Lower Merion Bus Driver Suspended For Hugging Students: Report

The driver was also "using nicknames" for students, which is apparently against policy.

A longtime Lower Merion School District bus driver was suspended from his route because he was hugging students and using nicknames for them, according to a report by Main Line Media News.

The parents of a Bala Cynwyd Middle School student reported the driver’s behavior as inappropriate in March and he was suspended during a police investigation, according to the report.

The issue was addressed during the public comment portion of Monday’s school board meeting.

Police found nothing criminal took place and the driver will now have to undergo retraining, Main Line Media News said.
