Lower Merion School Shuts Off Drinking Fountains After High Levels Of Lead Found: Report

The school is now giving children bottled water to drink.

LOWER MERION, PA -- A Lower Merion elementary school has shut off their drinking fountains after elevated levels of lead were discovered, according to a report.

Penn Wynne School is also giving out bottled water to students since the Tuesday test results came back, the report states.

Authorities have been contacted, although it could be false positive, according to the report.

The faucet that was tested is only used for washing dishes, not drinking, Philly.com states.

Tests were conducted throughout the school district in response to national concern over lead in water ever since the Flint, Michigan controversy came to the public's awareness.
