Main Line High School Brings Home Academic Quiz National Title

Way to represent the Main Line on a national level, kids!

A Main Line high school shined on the national stage recently, bringing a national title to the area after beating competitors from across the country.

Haverford High School's Hi-Q team brought home its second Hi-Q National Championship after defeating teams from Washington, Wisconsin, and Alabama Thursday.

The team trounced the competition, with a score of 58, while competitors Davidson of Alabama had 40, Peshtigo of Wisconsin had 36, and Monroe of Washington had 28, according to Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Partners in Education Foundation.

A blog post from the foundation reports the Haverford students locked down the win relatively early in the second half of the competition Thursday.

When the last question was asked, Haverford already had the national title secured while the other three teams competed for runner up spots.

A job well done to students Emma Davies, Pryce Davies, Quinn Gallagher, Jacob Kaufhold,Amy Kushlan, Peter Martin, Jack McGovern, Elliot Miciek, Stephan Mittleman, and Isabel Weir.

Congratulations are also in order for teacher and long-time Hi-Q coach David McCauley.
