Main Line Native's 'A Christmas Story' Musical Coming To TV
The Main Line's Benj Pasek and his writing partner Justin Paul will see their Broadway show adapted for TV this winter.
Main Line native Benj Pasek is no stranger to the spotlight: he and his writing partner Justin Paul have recently won awards at the Golden Globes, Tonys, and the Oscars for their work on the Broadway hit "Dear Evan Hansen" and the film "La La Land." Now, Pasek and Paul's version of "A Christmas Story" will hit TVs across the country as the Fox network is adapting the production.
Set to air Dec. 17, the TV version of the musical will reportedly include two new songs penned by Pasek and Paul that are not in the stage production, which debuted in 2012.
That is a good thing, as the duo has earned impressive accolades for their songwriting. This also provides the duo a chance to win an Emmy, which would put them one award closer to the earning the coveted "EGOT," which entails winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.
